Widex Evoke - 2020 Best Hearing Aid for Small Canals
This is an interesting category, but despite dramatic improvements in hearing aid technology over the last two years, small bendy canals continue to be a challenge for Audiologists.
The issue is fitting the speaker and sometimes other hearing aid parts in to the ear canal comfortably. Unfortunately our Best Overall Hearing id for 2019 - the Signia Nx, comes with a straight speaker which is fine for 95% of ears but those clients with small bendy canals often cannot tolerate it.
After much trial and error this year the clear winner for client's with small and bendy ear canals is the Widex Evoke - not our first or even second choice from a sound quality perspective but now typically the first for these types of ear canals.
The Widex speaker has a large bend in it which is the reason for it's ability to fit small, bendy canals comfortably. (See below).
